Chapter One: A Discover of Mystery PT1

(Shaine's POV)

It's been long years since my duty as the Legionary Alliance Clan mercenary, of course, I made some new friends after the war ended. I finally manage to save my friend and trusted companion varren after I've named him Zeus since my young age. Although I'm living individual in underground base of Halo Ring with other LAC outpost with me and Zeus. It nothing special when I first came inside the mountain island, before until I met the former Blue Suns mercenary, an turian named Terrius Verrikus. He very trustworthy to me after those other mercs who are the Blue Suns was taking Terrius away from here. Despite their effort, Terrius and I manage to get rid of them until one survives and flew off like an coward, I hope it's not gonna come back or else we'll kick their ass out of there again. It wasn't a feeling the same when I was glad for myself being alive, but I felt very lonesome without my family like Raine and dad. Sigh, Raine is always denied him as the father since that day he left with no reason where he's going. I mean, I always calling him dad all the time and it won't matter he's gone someplace as I would think he's very safe for sometime. Yet, I've been thinking of go the vacation in Citadel and hopefully Shala will give me the tour. Terrius and Zeus would like to go there, maybe I'll send the message to comrades that I'm about to go away to citadel for the shore leave... If I can..

"... Shaine, you should go takes some break from upgrades and stuff. You've probably deserve for the free time.." Terrius said.

".. I wish, Terrius. But my day is working on the upgrades the armor abilities, armor platings, weapons, and even vehicles. It's like I am unrest and keep working on the project where I make an new one." I said.

"You gonna take a break, Shaine. I am more worried about you since you haven't slept like a week." Terrius replied after he went to me, who I working on the armor abilities to repair and upgrade it. I stood silent at the moment as I hate to admit that I am gotten tired and need a rest from working. Strangely, I don't feel fatigue all the time and none only for that I don't feel tired but working on the projects and repairs... Who am I kidding, of course I am tired from the project after I walk into my private building and get some sleep. I lie down on my bed after I remove my combat armors and put them into the case. I am just wonder if my sister are around in other planets, it made me worried when I felt alone without her. I got friends who are close to me and even Caida someplace in Halo Ring. I maybe part of military soldier, mechanic and technician... Maybe I'll go explorer the Halo Rings tomorrow and hopefully I won't be lost in the ruins. But Zeus can help me out his snuff the tracks of mine. I just hope for the best of my luck for not getting lost.. For last, I hope I still got something very important data that was hidden in my old helmet. I'll do that after I'm done researching with Shala when I get a chance to brainstorm the artifacts and other information from artifact.

(General POV)

As Shaine fallen asleep on her bed while Terrius clean everything up for Shaine. Zeus lay down on his own bed as it got puffy and comfortable for the cushion bed so then he went to sleep as well. After cleaning, Terrius went to guest room and lie down on the couch for sleep. He still thinking of Shaine as he admirer attractive for the human, but he put his feeling aside and weird feeling for himself, a turian. As it won't matters for Terrius though, he cares for Shaine's safety from any threat which Adrastos and Zeus are overprotecting her. He met her since few month when Terrius and Shaine together as partners in Halo Ring. Till Terrius got something an gift for her birthday as it's an box when he open it and it is an bracelet. He is hoping for Shaine would like his gift from Citadel as he shipped to here with an System Alliance. Therefore he found something unusual papers and data pad that was mess on the garage table. He sees those Forerunner symbols and map coordinate of Terminus System, he found the request from other archeologist and the only one accept was Shala Ta'rila. She and Shaine are usually secretive from public as they were DJ players with some remixes and dubstep in the nightclub. And they were friends since Shaine discover her species and hides her identity from ONI. Shala might've been know what was important from those artifacts. Secretly he pretends he didn't see that he sorted up the papers and data pads in straight since he finished all the mess. When after he went to his room on top of vehicle depot building and lying down on his couch while he's hoping that Shaine didn't except the clean up her papers and files. It is for the best that he didn't see everything from the papers. For the last, he went to sleep then hoping for the better dream than nightmare. It's very difficult that things from the dream will be stranges as much when they sleep peacefully.

(Terrius POV)

Next day until afternoon, I had woken up from my sleep when I heard Shaine's voice from outside so I got up from the couch as I went outside the balcony... stairs... or whatever that structure designed was. I see Shaine wave at me by the exit of cave entrance and she seems to be heading off someplace in Halo Ring. So I wave back if I can see her smile from her helmet underneath. I also see Zeus was going with Shaine for the walk. Hopefully for them will have an safe path from Dark Krosheet and even other mercenaries. I walk down the stairs when I still look at her until then she speak, "Zeus and I are going for the walk and see the other place farther from here. Adrastos should be return here when UNSC comes to drop him off in LAC headquarters at noon. So I'm putting you in charge for watching over the underground base. Is there something you need before I got back?"

"No, I'm good. Just... be careful, Shaine." I said.

Shaine nod at me as she willing to be careful when I see her eyes behind her visor as she's smile. For luckily, I wore my helmet before going downstairs when I'm blushed as I gotten embarrassed. I was glad that I got off of that damn space station called "Omega", it's full of outlaws, thugs, and even Mercenary Gang which I wasn't happy about that Blue Suns I left. But it's not just that about, it's my foster adopted-father of mine who are lecture me with his own way before I left him and became Blue Suns mercenary... Anyway I gotten sidetrack when Shaine and Zeus begin to leave her post and goes for the walk. I sighed at the moment so I should check some supplies and resources when the next shipment comes to outside of entrance cave. Then again, something might've bother me when I saw the papers and data pad that was on garage table. Something about those Forerunner artifacts and technical computer that was gathering the intelligence what Shaine and Shala filled it up. Or was it Shaine done the filling the information when she learning about those ancient aliens..? It doesn't getting me anywhere to think. Grr... this is last time when I'm studying in brain school as I am biotic. I should stay focus on duty when some LAC troopers sending their deserted vehicles into our main base..

"By the spirits, I hope Shaine finally fixed that damn teleporter.." I facepalm.
